The Fiber Optic Light Sheet provides a safe, heat-free and UV-free bright light used for back illumination in bound books for research of water marks, repairs and photography. Ideal for conservators who require a flexible, safe, cool light source for treatment or examination of a localized area. Since no electricity is connected to the actual light sheet or lead (the only electrical power is at the light source) the sheet is safe to use even when working with dampened paper. The tin (1.8mm) light sheet is water resistant but not waterproof, and should not be immersed in water. The selector switch features three settings for high and low light intensity with an off position. The lamp is a 12 volt 50 watt dichroic reflector lamp. The light sheet itself measures 280mm x 210mm x 1.8mm (11" x 8.25" x 0.7") thick with a lead that is 525mm (20.6") long.
