Book Displays & Supports

conservator pointing at a page of old book in a cradleSince the first bible rolled off the Guttenberg press, the world has had a love affair with books. Today, museums, libraries, archives and collectors love to display their rare books and there are numerous supports available to do this safely. Some of our more versatile support offerings, such as Benchmark Pillow Support or Linen Cotton Ravioli Weights can be also used for other 3-dimentional artifacts and object.

For exhibiting a selection of regular books in a library or a museum, something as economical as clear plexiglass or wire easel stand. Library Special Collections exhibiting their treasures or archivists handling a fragile ancient manuscript might use something like a rare book pillow. A higher end version would be the Norfolk Book Sofa, which has a removable cover that can be washed.

The Book Support System consists of a wide variety of inert foam shapes that allows a book to be displayed in multiple angles. You can use Book SnakesPolyethylene Strapping or Page Holder to keep your book open and pages safely pressed down without creasing them.
