Treat your family photos like you would treat your family. Avoid extremes and fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Never store albums in a damp basement or hot attic. Even a bookcase against a poorly insulated exterior wall can undergo temperature and humidity changes which may go undetected in the rest of the room.

Paper or photographs are best stored at room temperature and humidity levels that people find most comfortable. Cabinets, closets or storage furniture offer the safest, long term storage for your collectibles.
