Paper, Film & Board

Paper conservator repairing on fragile old documentWhether you are building custom housing for rare books, museum artifact, or a family heirloom, conservators, museum professionals, special collection librarians, history buffs and family archivists choose University Products' archival quality materials trusted throughout the world.

Acid-free and lignin-free boards and papers don't contain residual acids used to break up wood fibers during manufacture, which makes them the only choice for old, brittle, or damaged paper documents or photographic prints. Any object or textile that needs to be protected from light, dust, dirt and fingerprints, should be enclosed in a safe, fitted container or a box for long-term storage or transportation. Our acid-free Corrugated Board is light weight, while providing exceptionally strong support. For protecting the most fragile objects, we offer inert Ethafoam and Polyethylene foam.

Valuable documents, paper ephemera, photos and negatives, original artwork or giclee prints, all can benefit from an extra layer of protection from the elements, as well as fingerprints during handling, while providing full visibility. Clear Archival Polyester is a perfect material for encapsulation of such objects. Marvelseal and Tyvek are a great, strong, water and insect repelling options for long-term storage and transportation.

For framing, conservation, and book arts application we have a wide variety of Japanese Papers which are indispensable for both repair and hinging purposes, as well as decorative and artistic ones.
