History of the Tarebox®:

Developed by outstanding Mexican conservators in cooperation with our partners, Marco Polo, during the project of preserving Founding Documents of the City of Puebla. 

Tarebox® is an exclusive product offered by University Products, quoted upon request for a specific artifact, as a custom-made item, guaranteed to meet exact requirements for preservation & display. It could be manufactured for canvas oil paintings (with special extra thickness and clamps to secure the wood frame) as well as photographs, documents, art on paper, and textiles.

Features of the Tarebox® Encasement System:

Tarebox® Encasement System allows preservation of historical documents within an inert environment, mounted on Lineco® 100% rag board, using linen tape and photo corners. It features an Artsorb® piece (calculated for the air volume inside), to keep the RH constant within the desired range and a visible humidity card to monitor it. A piece of Activated Carbon Cloth reduces the oxidant gases inside. Maximum size of the frame 29” x 40”.

Made out of solid 1" thick, powder-coated, aluminum plates precisely carved and sealed by a (Nitrile 70) “O” ring. Comes with several Allen screws to ensure an air-tight closure.

Window with full UV and anti-reflective protection by True Vue®; Optium Museum Acrylic® or Museum Glass® or Ultra Vue® Laminated Glass. Allows the maximum appreciation of the document or artwork. The entire System (including the frame) comes in a strong and attractive protective wooden case with metal latch closures and 2 handles for carrying.
