Paraloid B-72 for Labeling Museum Objects
Paraloid B 72 for Labeling Museum Objects
Many museums are currently choosing Paraloid B-72 lacquer over cellulose nitrate lacquers (because of curling, flaking and instability problems) to catalog and label objects in their collections. It is 25% solution by weight of Paraloid B-72 in acetone and comes premixed in 1 0z. jars with a build-in brush. It is available in both clear (for labeling light-colored objects) and opaque (for labeling dark-colored objects) formulations. The opaque lacquer has titanium dioxide added as the pigment. Please consult a conservator before applying to any valuable object. Please note: A top coat is not always necessary and may blur inks if applied before enough drying time has occurred. Price each.
